We’re so happy you’re here, whether you’re joining a tournament, playing a board game with friends, learning a new TCG, or diving into a full TTRPG adventure. Our shop is meant to be a fun, safe, and cozy space where everyone can relax, enjoy the hobby, and feel like they belong. To help keep that vibe going, we ask everyone to follow our community Code of Conduct.

Expected Behaviour

At The Cardshop, we believe the best games happen when everyone feels respected and included. We ask all guests to be kind, courteous, and welcoming to others, even when the match gets intense or the dice rolls don’t go your way. Please listen to other people’s perspectives, give everyone space to enjoy themselves, and support the community spirit that makes this hobby special. If something happens that feels uncomfortable or unsafe, we encourage you to let a staff member know right away as we’re here to help, and we will always take concerns seriously.

Unacceptable Behaviour

While we want everyone to have fun, there are some behaviours we cannot allow in our space. Harassment of any kind ( whether physical, verbal, or written ) is not tolerated. Discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or orientation is also strictly forbidden. We also expect everyone to avoid profanity, abusive language, or behaviour that ruins the experience for others. Theft, vandalism, or damage to shop property will be treated very seriously. For the safety and comfort of everyone in the shop, players may not participate in games while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Consequences

If someone breaks the Code of Conduct, our staff will respond based on what happened and what is needed to protect the space. Minor issues may result in a verbal warning, while repeated behaviour may lead to a temporary ban ranging from 24 hours to 7 days. Serious incidents, or repeated violations after temporary bans, can result in a permanent ban. In cases involving criminal behaviour or property damage, legal action may be taken. All decisions are made at the discretion of staff and management, and our goal will always be to keep The Cardshop safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Gaming Etiquette

We love friendly competition, dramatic moments, and chaotic dice rolls but we also want every player to have a good time. Please respect the rules of the game being played, and play fairly without cheating, exploiting mechanics, or creating unfair advantages. We ask everyone to practice good sportsmanship by winning humbly and losing gracefully. During games, please be mindful of time and keep your turns reasonably paced so everyone gets to play. If someone is new to the hobby, we encourage you to welcome them warmly and help them learn as today’s newbie might become tomorrow’s best opponent or favourite teammate! And once a game is done, please help tidy up by returning items, cards, and materials to the proper places.
